The Darkness Falls
BlurbAfter retreating to her hometown to heal from a devastating breakup, Jamie Lewis does the one thing she promised herself she wouldn't do - Fall in love.
Michael is dark, mysterious and his eyes hold secrets that she can't even begin to imagine but despite his warnings she cannot stay away.
Drawn to him like a magnet, she finds herself in his world. A world of pain and darkness and death and she forces him to make a decision that he doesn't want to make. Can Michael save her by doing the one thing he vowed he would never do or will he be condemned to exist without her?
I gave this four out of five stars.
This is the sequel to the Edge of Darkness that follows Jamie Lewis more than Michael. I won’t lie; I was pleased to see him back in action with a possibility of finding true love. Again, the details to the town were lovely and the side characters had a life of their own, but I was a little thrown off with the clichés scattered in the plot. It was oddly reminiscent of twilight, in my opinion.
This story line was fast paced with lots of drama, love, suspense, and secrets lying in the background, just waiting to spring up when it was the most unexpected. Jamie had been hurt in the past by a man she held dear and though that affected her greatly she still came across as a strong and beautiful individual. I wish Elizabeth had more of a playing role, but even with the few scenes she popped up in she flourished with life. It’s almost hard to describe this book without accidentally giving something away. The small things you wouldn’t think were important had such an impact later on that all I can do is tell you to keep your eyes peeled; the mystery slowly unfolds with every page and chapter.
I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the last page, and I still wonder if there may be more waiting around the corner. If you’re a fan of paranormal romance I recommend you take a peek at this series, it’s well-written and very intriguing.
