The Extractor by Emily Walker

the extractor
Short horror story
Blurb
A detective tries to solve the mystery of disappearances surrounding a dentist who is more horrifying then he could ever imagine.

I gave it five out of five stars.
The Extractor by Emily Walker is a dark story about a demon who takes over the body of a dentist to gather the souls he needs for the Underworld. He tortures and slaughters his victims while they're in a dream-like state, and seems to get away with it easily until Detective Gibbs enters the picture...
This short horror story is gruesome but amazing! Emily isn't what I would call a "gore" author- you know, those people who basically write Saw books. They focus on the murders, but not on anything else. She gives you enough details to picture the events happening and yet leaves out just enough for your mind to wonder... I loved it! It was well-written, quick paced, and full of those creepy "what ifs" that turn your pleasant dreams into nightmares. I would love to see a horror novel by her; I have no doubt that it would be amazing and incredibly scary! But beware, this book may have you changing your mind about going to that next dentist appointment...
It is 99 cents for the ebook, and since I thoroughly enjoyed it I can't say it was a waste of money, but I would love to see this featured in an anthology somewhere rather than sitting on it's own...
