The Edge of Darkness
Blurb
Life is falling apart at the seams for Michael Giordano. He has dropped out of medical school which enrages his father and his beloved mother's health is becoming worse every day.
He meets Olivia and for the first time in a long time he feels whole. He is alive and in love. But Olivia's past is haunted by an evil vampire who won't let her go and when past and present worlds collide hell breaks loose throwing Michael into a nightmare he can't wake up from and it forces him to chose between living in the light or dying on the edge of darkness.

I give this 3.5 out of five stars.
The Edge of Darkness follows a man named Michael Giordano, with a well-blended mix of historical and modern day romance. Unfortunately with the strict behavioral acceptance of the Victorian era and how this book betrayed it, I was left a little unsatisfied. I felt that key details and character behavior in the beginning of the book were left out, making a great read fall to only good. The middle went a little slow, turning to the angsty side of vampiric life and how dreadful forever can be. While it was crucial to the development of the character and added a needed sense of realism to the book, it became tiresome after a few chapters and had me eager for some sort of action. When things picked up the book went back into being fast paced and intriguing. I loved how the vampires were depicted by Jynell Hull, and the little added details to the surrounding serene. As time passed by life changed with subtle hints like the invention of automobiles and working electricity. This helped out to introduce the new time period without making it feel as though the entire book was filled with holes. Well done! Her ideas and thoroughly created side characters have snagged up my interest. Spoiler, the books ends in the cliffhanger that has me eager to begin the next book. All in all, I will keep an eye out for more works by this author. I believe with a little more research any historical romance book written by her would be completely swoon worthy, and that should she continue working with the paranormal, I will be hooked on her books soon.
